Departure Procedures

1. Arrival at the terminal
Arrive at the terminal at least 2-3 hours prior to your scheduled departure time.
2. Ticketing
Receive your boarding pass at the ticket office of your ship operator on the second floor.
3. Pre-departure preparations
Prepare your tax refund receipt and purchased goods.
※ Your personal information should be on the refund receipt in order to get a refund.
4. Baggage checking
Check your baggage at the baggage checking counter on the first floor.
※ It must be consigned after customs clearance is given.
5. Entry into the departures hall
Move to the departure gate on the fourth floor, present your passport and boarding pass for identification, and enter into the departures hall.
6. Customs inspection & export approval
Go through Customs Export Approval stamp at the Customs Declaration counter on the right side after entering the Departure Hall.
※ Contact the refund company on your refund receipt for further assistance with any other refund issues.
7. Security screening
All passengers must undergo security screening prior to boarding.
8. Immigration
Enter the duty-free area after going through immigration by the Ministry of Justice.
9. Boarding and departure
Take a shuttle bus at the shuttle bus stand on the second floor as guided, move to the pier, and board the ship.
  • 01 Arrival at the terminal
    • It is advised to arrive at the terminal at least 2-3 hours prior to your scheduled departure time.
  • 02 Ticketing (2 hours prior to departure)
    • Present your passport and booking slip (if booked in advance) to the ticket office of your ship operator on the second floor. The boarding pass will be issued after the cabin is confirmed.
      • The terminal use fee (KRW 6,000) and departure tax (KRW 1,000) will be imposed on all passengers aged 6 or older.
      • Passengers who wish to apply for a visa on board must check with their ship operators in advance.
      • Make sure to check the closing time for ticketing with your ship operator.
  • 03. Tax refund
    • Passengers should bring their passport, refund receipt, and purchased items and report them to customs in order to get a tax refund. Tax refund is unavailable unless your passport number, English name, nationality, and the refund option are listed on the refund receipt.
    • In case of hand-carrying your purchased items
      • 1. Report your purchased items at the Customs Declaration counter on the right side after entering the Departure Hall on 4th floor.(Your items may be subjected to inspection*)
        • Inspection criteria: over 3 million won per refund receipt-mandatory inspection / others-random inspection
      • 2. Get Customs Export approval stamp on your refund receipt and put it in the mailbox.
    • In case of baggage checking your purchased items
      • 1. You must check in your baggage after reporting your purchased items to the customs office in the baggage checking area on the 1st floor (T:032-452-3525)
        • Items consigned without being reported to customs cannot be approved by customs after the fact.
      • 2. Get Customs export approval stamp on your refund receipt at the Customs Declaration counter on 4th floor, when departure.

  • 04 Baggage checking
    • The baggage checking counter is located on the first floor of the Incheon International Ferry Terminal. Make sure to remember the following when checking your baggage.
      • Do not accept any request from a stranger regarding baggage checking.
      • Make sure to hand-carry valuables (cameras, jewelry, etc.) and fragile items (ceramics, glass products, etc.)
      • Attach a label marked with your name, address, and destination in English to your baggage in case it is misplaced.
      • Report to the Personal Belongings Department located in the waiting room of the departures hall for items in checked baggage that require a customs declaration.
    • Checked baggage size, weight, and number vary by route. Please check with your ship operator in advance.

  • 05 Entry into the departures hall
    • Present your passport and boarding pass at the departure gate on the fourth floor for identification and enter into the departures hall.
  • 06 Security screening
    • All passengers must undergo security screening.
    • Please cooperate fully to ensure the safety of all terminal users and the ship.
  • 07 Immigration
    • Passengers are allowed into the duty-free area after completing immigration (either manned or automated). Please check whether you are qualified for automated immigration with the Ministry of Justice Korea Immigration Service.
  • 08 Departure and boarding
    • Move to the shuttle bus stand on the second floor using the elevator within the departures hall on the fourth floor and take the shuttle bus to the ship for boarding as guided.
